What is "Bleed"? "Bleed" is a printing term used to indicate the portion of the card that will be Trimmed Off when cut to the final size. The purpose of a bleed is to continue a colour, image or design to the edge of the card.
We require all files to be built to the full bleed dimensions specified for each trim size.
Guidelines
.jpg)
Full Bleed (Artwork size 93mm x 56mm) The margins between the trim line (red line) and the dimensions of your artwork is called "Full Bleed", images and text outside the Trim line (red line) will be CUT-OFF!
Any photos, coloured background or images that you want to continue to the edge of the product must be continued past the trim line (red line) to at least 1.5 mm on each side.
If the artwork did not provide the full bleed your product will probably end up with a white strip along the edge.
Trim Size (Product size 90mm x 53mm) This is the finished size of the product after cutting off the "Bleed". Text or images that are next to the trim line (red line) MAY BE CUT-OFF! We also recommend no borders due to shifting in the cutting process, borders may appear uneven.
Safe Zone (86mm x 49mm) All critical elements (text, images, logos, etc.) MUST be kept at least 2mm from the trim line (red line) inside this area. Anything left outside this box may be CUT-OFF during trimming.
